Abstract
Rad je temeljen na knjizi autora C. A. O'Flaherty: „Planiranje prometa i prometno inženjerstvo˝. Obrađeno je prvo poglavlje: „Razvoj transportne djelatnosti“. Opisan je razvoj prometa kroz povijest kako putničkog tako i teretnog te razvoj samih cesta. Od staza i puteva za zaprežna kola do modernih autocesta. Prikazane su također i demografske promjene izazvane modernim načinom prometovanja te je stavljen naglasak na transportni sistem Velike Britanije.
Abstract (english)
This thesis is based on the book: ˝Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering˝, written by author C. A. O'Flaherty. First chapter, ˝Evolution of the Transport Task˝, has been described here. This thesis describes the development of both passenger and freight traffic and the development of the road through history. From roads and trails for horse-drawn carts to modern highways. Demographic changes are also displayed caused by modern way of traffic, and the accent is placed on the transport system of the United Kingdom.
